An Unique Workshop has been Held in FENG by Professor Dr. Muthanna Al-Dahhan

On Tuesday, 22nd November 2016, an important workshop has been held in Dr. Nazim Hall, FENG, Koya University that presented by Professor Dr. Muthanna Al- Dahhan under the title " What it needs to gain ABET Accreditation". Professor Dr. Al- Dahhan is the chairman of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering department at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA and he visited Koya University, Faculty of Engineering as a part of the IREX grant that Koya University gained in July 2016. It is worth mentioning that, a research team from the Faculty of Engineering (FENG), Koya University lead by Dr. Mohammed Zangana the dean of the faculty has been awarded a grant of 50,000 USD by International research and exchange board known as IREX for their project titled “Pre-treatment and Disposal of Expired Molecular Sieves: Petroleum Industry in Iraq as Case Study”. This is a joint project between Koya University and Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA.

The workshop contents were about how to gain ABET accreditation. ABET is the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology and it is a non-governmental organization that accredits post-secondary education programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology and the faculty of engineering is intended to evaluate its study program by ABET accreditation.
