A Workshop Held on Recent Progress in Software Engineering and Future Trends

On Monday 3rd April 2017, an important workshop in title “Recent Progress in Software Engineering and Future Trends” has been held in Dr. Nazim hall of the Faculty of Engineering, Koya University. The workshop has done by Software Department of Koya University, the staff of IT Department of Sulaymani University and a delegated team of the MediaTech Company for the period 4 hours. Further, the workshop included 9 seminars presented, as the following:

1- Digital Image Processing: Applications and Researcher's Guideline - By Dr. Alan Anwer Abdulla - Head of the Department of Information Technology.
2- Apache Hadoop - By Mrs. Rezhin Sarbast Majeed - Laboratory Assistant.
3- Google Glass Technology - By Saw Bwar Nooradin. 
4- OS Smartphones: Android and iOS - By Karwan Omer Mohammed – Student.
MediaTech Company
5- E-Central Submission and Registration for Students – By Jabar Othman.
Software Engineering Department – Koya University 
6- Hyperspectral Image Segmentation Using a Cooperative Nonparametric Approach - By Dr. Akar Hawre.
7- Wireless and Sensors Technologies for Smart Cities – By Dr. Halgurd Sarhang.
8- Medical Imaging: Breast Cancer Detection – By Dr. Taban Fuad.
9- Creating and Managing Online Scientific Journal - by Adam Faisal - Student.
During the seminars, most of the problems and state of the arts of software engineering trends and challenges have been presented and discussed. The uniqueness of the workshop was that a software/technology company has been invited and the representative of the company has presented recent jobs and positions of software engineering. In addition, the workshop has given a new opportunity to make contacts between staff & student and private section (i.e. companies) and find a new path to work together.
